It was always a dream to create a 100% cashmere coat. First of all it was very difficult to find 100% cashmere cloth in white which would be strong enough to make a coat out of. This I found by chance in Italy. Next question if it would work with batik. Would the colour work the wax, the whole process. As it's very expensive it was a rather nervous racking experience. The result however, was fantastic. I found somebody in Spain to make the coat and it arrived just on time in Paris for the DEDEM party. After Paris I went to Amsterdam where I wore the coat exactly 1 hour before I sold it. The lady who bought the coat loved it on the spot. Which is a big compliment as she is very creative and has great taste! She is the well known interior decorator Odette Welvaars.
