Last week we went with a group of friends to the truffles Market in Lalbenque. Very French tradition but great fun. Just outside Cahors. It was a perfect day, blue sky sun. Especially appreciated after 2 months of rain and grey skies!
Lalbenque is a small village and before the market starts it's empty. Until 14.30 when the sales start, this way everybody can have a huge lunch with truffles etc! As this is a bad truffles year the sales were over rather rapidly.
What is very impressive is when one approaches the tables with the truffles the smell is wonderful.
A very nice way to start spring!
