Read Indonesia etc. by Elizabeth Pisani, think it's brilliant as it's a fresh approach of describing changes in a country in the last 30 years. Is funny and full of information. Worth a read and very funny. It's not a detachted observation of a foreign country, but somebody who lives it and is ready to change her ideas from past experience on the spot. It also very accesible and explains so well the different logics which exist. Really very well done. In some ways it reminded me of Gore Vidal's writing.
