The fan club of Ayah Landa is preparing for the day of 'prix de l'arc'. She is in the Prix de l'opera. Ayah Landa is full of potential and an extraordinary horse who is hopefully going to show her potential and win her race!
Longchamps is very chic! Normally the weather is much cooler and it's easier to dress chic. But this time it's much more complicated as we are in the middle of a heatwave! How to be elegant in a heatwave?
In the end I have opted for a silk sarong and Vintage white blouse. The hat I haven't decided yet, just that it has to be tiny!
DEDEM was launched to combine my experiences. Inspiration and ideas come from everywhere. Where ever I go I catch some pictures in my mind, they will become the design material of DEDEM creations.

What does one wear in a kitchengarden!
What does one wear in the kitchen garden? Of course I never gave this any thought before I started my vegetable garden. As I am now working in it on a regular basis I have found that the best is to wear a sarong as that gives freedom of movement, bare feet are perfect is gives the feeling of the soil as well it's comfortable. Gloves are important against the blisters. A DEDEM silk scarf gives some colour and protects against the wind. Another essential element is the little basket to take the vegetables and herbs back to kitchen to prepare! After all this the purpose of the exercise!

It's all about hats Prix De Diane
It's all about hats. Below you find a short impression of how one wears hats during Prix De Diane. The attitude alters as the day progresses especially after some celebration!
Elegance and comfort at Prix de Diane
The challenge of what to wear at Prix De Diane is all about, how to be elegant and very comfortable at the same time. The day is very long and one has to walk great distances. Luckily it's was not too hot this year. To be elegant at high temperatures is too much of challenge.
Decided on flat shoes as Ines de la fressange was quoted in the FT that flat shoes can be very elegant! My hat was a comfortable Panama, decorated by Catherine Joyaux. The coat was Mattie Couperus vintage. The jewellery was DEDEM baroque pearls limited edition. A powder pink 100% Cashmere DEDEM scarf against any cold.
To finish the outfit, I bought a pink tool bag at BHV (basement, best place to shop!) for my camera. Result I felt extremely comfortable and had a wonderful memorable day enjoying every moment without any suffering!

Preparations for Prix de Diane
Prix de Diane at Chantilly is about excellence, elegance, femininity beauty and horse racing! It's one of the most prestigious prices to win in horse racing. Women wear hats and wonderful outfits, there is no need to be just passionates about horses. It's about parading elegance, having a beautiful day with friends and family in the beautiful grounds of the Race course Chantilly.
As entry fees are very reasonable it's accessible for most French, and its a mix of all sorts, who have one thing in common that day, which is being elegant (and we all know the French are very good at that)! All this against the backdrop of the monumental stables of Chantilly.
Luckily I have Catherine Joyaux who is helping me to create my hat! Catherine has a long experience (20 years) in creating hats for Prix de Diane as well as creating the most amazing flower decorations for events and Parties. Very reassuring! The rest of my outfit needs organising this week. To be continued .........

Fashion at La Feria de la Caballo
The Flamenco dress comes in all forms, sizes and colours and is worn by every age during the Feria. They come in different length and are worn by every generation. The man’s dress is not colourful but there the small details are very important.
It’s fascinating to see this display as it has nothing to do with traditional dress, as this seems always slightly forced. Here people dress with pride and change their dress every year and display their creation with pride, while they walk around or driven around in the carriages. It’s despite all the polka dots, very individual, as there is no end to all the possibilities.
