Just received velvet jackets. So rich and beautiful, nice for winter! Easy to wear, water resistant and can be machine washed! The batik really works well on velvet!

International bio apple chutney

First production Apple Chutney this year! It's totally bio, apples and herbs from the garden.
The chutney should be called International Apple Chutney! The ingredients come from various cultures. The nutmeg and cloves are a heritage from a visit to Banda Neira many many years ago! Ketjap Manis and Sambal is from my life in Jakarta. The Apples, the fresh rosemary and cider vinegar is from Normandy.
To be able to supply all the fans, next production this weekend.
This combination can only be tasted in 4 weeks time. It needs to settle first!

DEDEM Creations at Prix L'Arc 2016, Chantilly

L'Arc took place this year at Chantilly. The aim was to be comfortable without being boring!

Use many motives to test a new material!

To test a new type of material, the best is to take a handful of motives and colour it dark grey. This way one can see what works best, regarding texture colour etc. At the same time the result is rather decorative and fun!This material is very promising!

Preparing 'DEDEM Among Friends' on location at Hella Pais, Amsterdam

'DEDEM Among Friends Collection'. It’ a delicate balance of comfort and elegance at the same time. the clothes are inspired on traditional french working cloths, which are elegant and functional at the same time.

Establishing a balance between different cultures, using the best of the 2. The impressive technique of BATIK hand-stamped and hand dyed textile, with its endless possibilities of creating new motives, and use of color. While giving new life to antique French Linen, with it`s wonderful texture.

A collection of being individual, standing out without being too much, but mostly fun!

Most important of all, I love working with textiles and creating unique pieces and giving pleasure to those who are going to wear it.

In Amsterdam there will be a new serie of unique pieces, and very much looking forward to work with Hella Pais!

DEDEM CREATIONS worn in Vive la Crise a French film

Recently a Trenchcoat and some other items were selected for the French film Vive la Crise. Always a compliment as French are fussy. The coat is made from old French linen, which gives it an extra dimension, the cut of the coat is brilliant for tall people! Hope DEDEM will survive the editing room!

DEDEM among friends event a big success

The DEDEM Among Friends Event in Bussum went very well. Nice location, good food, Annette is a great hostess and  cook.  Her lovely home has 2 rooms which are used as bed &breakfast (B&B Bussum) very comfortable rooms.
Anna Creation from Brussels presented her fun earrings.
A good appreciating crowd, all in all an event to be repeated.

The DEDEM velvet shirts in more colours! Warm colours for winter to cheer everybody up! Machine wash is no problem (rather essential info!). Good example of casual smart

Last minute arrivals, more velvet!

 

The more I work with velvet the more I appreciate it. It's rich and it gives a complete different twist to everything, motives, colours. It either gives elegance or it becomes sporty. Very comfortable to wear. Still a lot to discover!

DEDEM Coat or is it a dress?

Just received latest DEDEM Coat, which can also be worn as a dress, with or without belt. Love the lining with the blue. The linen is old French bed linen. Very nice to give those linens a new lease of life. Sewing as always very well done.
Will be presented at DEDEM Among Friends Event in the Netherlands, next week.
