House for sale!

About 10 years ago I found a country house in Loir et Cher in easy reach of Paris 15 km from TGV Vendome (42 min to Paris) and International airports.
The attractions were and still are, a charming home to begin with. The house was extremely well restored with excellent taste and materials. Situated on the edge of a small village with a free view around, no near neighbors and a large plot of land 8.800m2 along a quiet country lane.

After having lived and worked in the house for 10 years the house has proven all its good points. The number of friends and family who came to visit from all different parts of the world were a source of joy. A meeting place of different nationalities.

With its 3 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms the house was never overcrowded; guests never suffered a lack of privacy. The kitchen is the centre of the house and a natural place where people are catching up during cooking and having drinks. The two living rooms with a fireplace provide excellent provisions to spent time alone or in greater company.

The house is very well connected to the garden with 4 exits to the garden. Pierre Joyaux  (www.pierrejoyaux.com) designed the garden, which added a lot to the quality of living and beauty, the garden is low in maintenance at the same time a joy to spent time in during all seasons.

From a professional point of view the house is very suitable to run an (international) business from. The house can be easily divided in an office area and living area. At a time, when I was travelling a great deal to Asia I would catch a TGV from St Pierre des Corps at 09.00 to Charles de Gaulle Airport to catch a plane at 12.30 for Singapore. Same for return flights, if landing before 07.00 I would be home at 10.00!

The region has come over the years interesting from a social point of view as different nationalities and French from different walks of life have come to live in the area. There is an active cultural life. The last two years my businesses (textile design and breeding thoroughbred race horses) developed and expanded quickly and needed more space. I moved the business to the Berry with ample space for the horses, better quality of water to rinse the delicate cashmere and silks and an excellent workshop for sewing as well as developing prototypes. The result is that I have to consider to part from this home. This beautiful place offering comfort, privacy, space and a relaxed atmosphere with almost immediate access to Paris is therefore for sale. Parting with the house will not mean that I will lose all those great memories attached to it, at the same time it offers an opportunity for those who appreciate a warm home in a beautiful area without being isolated from the rest of the world. For further information: dedemfr@gmail.com
